I was applying for a business credit card online, it came back declined and I was confused as to why it was declined, as i have reasonably good credit rating. anyway i thought that it way be a result of my appartment being blacklisted from the previous tenants, so i put in my flat mate's details just to see if it came back the same, to my supprise it came back approved... i should have just left it there but instead i went ahead with the application and got the card through with a limit of £7,500 and have been using it since, my flat mate has found the bill and now know, he has contacted the credit card people and explained the situation, he told me to call em, but im really realyl scared that i'm going to go to prison! i have lost my friends and my family not speaking to me and i never done anything like this before, i am so stupid and wish to god i didnt do it... i want to get it sorted but i am so scared what will happen.. i dont want to go to prison, does anybody have any advise? :( more

Hi, I recently started a small home jewelry business, and I need to purchase some specialty paper for the following purposes: 1. Making earring cards to hang earrings from. 2. Making small "inserts" to go w/ jewelry (about 1.5x1 inch) describing the gems used in the pieces. Ideally I would like the paper to be printable at least on an inkjet printer. I have looked around online extensively, but have not really been able to find what I am looking for at a reasonable price. I recently applied for a job as a design assistant. I just graduated from college and this is exactly what I want my career to be so I really want this job. The company I applied for is very well known. I emailed someone that works with the company (I briefly met this person and got her business card) and sent her my resume and she forwarded it to HR. I also filled out the online application. HR contacted me by email and asked for some of my sketches. I sent in some sketches and did not hear anything back. I emailed HR 3 days later after not hearing anything just to confirm she received my sketches. She wrote me back saying she received them and that she would be in touch with me shortly. It has now been 4 days since she told me this. My question is, should I call/email and keep bugging her until she schedules me an interview of should I wait for her to get in touch with me? more

Resolved Question: Question concerning credit card dispute against my business?

Sorry if this is too much info. Just wanted to be sure that I cover everything. During the fall and winter I run an online children's boutique. We specialize in higher end children's items and mostly pettiskirts. I was contacted in January by someone wanting to place a $500 order for skirts going from the states to Singapore. The items were paid for through Paypal and drop shipped to the buyer by the skirt manufacturer. I placed an order, with the manufacturer, for my own children and did so for several other customers as well. All have confirmed that they received their skirts within a week. I am now, more than 5 months later, being contacted by the Singapore buyer who claims she never received hers. Again, more than 5 months later!!! She attempted filing with Paypal but they immediately closed the claim due to it being so long after purchase. However, they did mention that she could file directly with her credit card company and could still be refunded!!! I am so upset. I do not run my boutique through Summer months in order to spend time with my children when they are not in school. Each summer I delete all of my order information, emails, files, etc., so I can get a fresh start the next fall. This has kept things more organized for me up until now. Due to it being so long without hearing from anyone, I no longer have the shipping information. The only thing that I have is the email in which I sent when the order was shipped in January 14th. So now to the question.......Can she really get her money back after this long? In my opinion she should not be able to because there is no reason why she should not have contacted me earlier if she did not receive her order. Infact, I had told her only it would only take a couple of weeks when she first contacted me. I am wondering if she is trying to scam "me" considering the situation and the fact that she is from another country. At this point I no longer have the profit that I made on the skirts to refund her. I am a stay at home mom and with the site being closed through the summer, I have no extra money myself. What can I do? Any information on this or advise would be greatly appreciated!!! Just to follow up with MEG D..... As I mentioned, I no longer have record of anything except for the email in my sent folder confirming to her that the order had shipped. The skirt was drop shipped direct from the manufacturer and they no longer have the information after this long. We are talking 1/2 a year later! They do have the order sheet where it was highlighted when the package was on the shipping table and another sheet that was highlighted once it was on the truck. So it definitely went out. They also print labels direct rather than retyping them or hand writing them so no error with the address. Hopefully you are right about the card company. Voting Question: I've applied for jobs online. Some have sent immediate replies requesting my credit score or copy of my report?

At first, most of them were saying that the score was requested due to the person hired having access to a company credit card. Another position I just received an immediate reply on says they would like a copy of my credit report to verify previous employment. Of course all provide links that they want you to use. Needless to say, I'm suspicious of this. I'm applying for positions advertised in an online job board (Craigslist mainly) for an intermediate sized town. I wonder how many of these could just be business trying to find people to sale things to - or scams - and I'm sure suspicious of a company immediately sending an email saying I'm in their final screening process and requesting a copy saying it is to verify previous employment. Has anyone had this before and had them be legit? Maybe I should add that I work overnights, so I'm sending these out at 2am - 5am in the morning - so I know that these are auto-replies. Has anyone ever ordered anything from cruisingforremotes.com before? It's a site that sells aftermarket remotes for car alarm/remote starter systems. My remote broke, and this site claims to ship orders within one business day. After I ordered a remote from their site, I had a transaction on my credit card show up for a dvd from a book store in Canada, which I didn't place seeing as I don't live in Canada and have no need to shop online there. Is this site a scam? Maybe I'm asking too soon, since my order hasn't been mailed to me yet, but I'm just worried I'm never even going to get it. I've already been charged. There's no way to track my order either. I did call a number I found on the website and got a guy on the phone who said my order went out 3 days ago. Booking for two people, charged four times for online check in, then charged a further four times for payment...even though it's all going through on the same card! Then, they bump the price up by a further €20 on the flights when I get to the last page. Do they hike up the prices up on flights depending on how many times the page is clicked on? or is it possible that in those 20 seconds someone else booked seats thus inflating the price? He will only admit to "talking" to other women but he has never spoken to them on the phone,text or online chats when I am around. Only after I'm asleep or at work does he do these things. I have seen some of the emails and texts but he tells me that I'm wrong. He is now away at a business conference and don't you know one of the women he has been texting/ talking on the phone with will be there-from the texts she is no longer with her BF and my husband has responded to her that he wants to be with her. I confronted my jerk husband with the info just letting him think I overheard a phone conversation and he said "no I didnn't, do you have a recording?" I'm not going to tell him I read his texts so I said of course not. He always tries to make me think I'm crazy and won't admit to anything unless there is physical evidence (like the credit card statement that had charges to people only he does business with). Divorce seems like failure but I don't like feeling like I am being used and emotionally abused. I took him back a few years ago because my children missed him so much. Resolved Question: Will my credit card payment be counted as late?

My credit card payment is due today (6/14). I paid it online yesterday but when I pushed the submit payment it said that it was paid on Monday (6/15). I know that is because the payment can't come out of the bank until the next business day, but does this mean that my payment is going to be considered late? Each month my credit card minimum balance is $0.00. Does this mean that my credit card payment can't be counted as late? If it is late, then what will happen after that? I read my terms and it says that the late payment fee is $35. And the delinquency APR is 20.90% APR. Does this mean that interest will be added to next months balance? Every month I pay off my statement balance. Should I schedule another payment to pay off the entire balance, including purchases that I made today? The interviewer was very understanding about it, and said my resume was so impressive he would send it to the director of the program so she could consider it for a position they'd be hiring for "in the summer." Resolved Question: Why do we have to be out of the funds for a fraud made with my bank card?

I got a call from the fraud alert company that works with my bank. I found there were 20 transactions done in one day from some online company I've never heard of. I don't understand why we have to be out of the $200 for a week for that we need to pay for our bills. 2 days ago, i returned some headphones at Best Buy that cost me $325.00. The lady that was doing the return told me that the money would be transferred back to my card that i used, and that my card is not needed. She did however, scanned the headphones and provided me with a receipt that showed that return transaction. Next business day, i checked my account online, and the $325.00 was not returned. (In the U.S.) I have two bank accounts at different banks with debit cards. Bank A Signature transactions shows in the memo section as preauth atm with the amount. PIN transaction shows in the memo section as POS with the amount. Bank B Signature transactions does not show up tell the next business day PIN transaction shows up the same day. Bank B does not have a memo posting. Another words bank B does not show the preauthorization like Bank A does. more

I don't want PayPal. I want to be able to put in a clients card number and charge it or they do it themselves. I do not want my bank information disclosed or anything like that sort. I've been knowing a guy I met online. He's just the most perfect guy. I know online a person can be one way, but we met in person and he's exactly the same guy. The problem is he's not American. He's here on a visa. He's always been upfront with the fact that he wants to get married and have a large family. I think it's sweet how he tells me about our life should we get married. I hadn't heard from him in 2 days, so I called him. He works 2 jobs, both requiring L-O-N-G ***HARD*** hours for very little money. He asked for extra hours, but his boss pretended not to know what he was talking about when the time came, so he's been forced to take on additional work on the side. He hasn't been sleeping or taking care of himself so now he's sick. On top of being sick he admitted the real reason that he's looking to marry--to be able to stay in this country. He said he likes me and doesn't want to hurt me. He poured his heart out and it got to be too much for him. He had to hang up but promised to call once he collected his thoughts... It's always been in the back of my mind-- him wanting to marry for papers. He's always said he wants a real marriage and not a business arrangement. The sad thing is we spoke yesterday and after having over 24hrs to think it over I could care less either way what he chooses... to marry me or not. Should I be feeling this way? my fiance and i are both 19 with an 8 month old son. we live with his parents and have been. My fiance works full time and makes 24000/yearly. I have been wanting to move out for sometime now but my fiance insists we cannot afford it, no matter what unless we have 3-4 other people living with us to share the bills. I am not wanting to do that because i do not see the point of moving out of a house full of people into another. i am trying to get out on our own. I am looking for a job but its very hard to find one, as we all know. I went and inquired at many places today and found that we qualify for metropolitan housing and if we moved out, also the medical card and food assistance card. we would be able to make it. now i don't like living of the system any more than anybody else, but its all i can see to do. we need to be in our own space so my son can have his own home w/ just mom and dad ect. our presence at my inlaws is no longer appropriate. we have both been hs graduates for over a year now and i feel we've had our allotted amount of fun w/o responsibility, especially now that we have a child. my fiance tells me to shut the F*$# up when i try to talk to him about it and its none of my business when or where were moving. He tells me to leave him alone about the whole situation and he doesn't feel like hearing me b*tch about things outta my control. He tells me if i want out then get out cause he likes living with his mom and has no problem raising his son here where there's plenty of help w/ childcare and housework ect. he says that us moving out and going that route is just an excuse for me to sit on my ass online and watch tv all day while he's at work and never have to pull my own weight in the family.He says he already promised his 23 year old cousin who just lost his own place due to financial issues that he could move in with us where ever we move out to and metro wouldn't work with him living with us too. I said we aren't responsible for his cousin finding or affording a home and he said i'm not going to go back on my promise to him so just shut up and learn your place around here. he says i'm too hard to please and nothing satisfies me ever. What should i do? am i being unreasonable? if i keep trying to talk about it, he just says i already know what were going to do and quit trying to change his mind he is constantly telling me not to pull the emotional abuse card b/c every couple fights and that isn't abuse, just another way men get screwed by the judicial system. he also gets sarcastic and starts answering every statement i make with a "yep" or "ok" while watching tv at the same time or getting on his phone and making a buncha calls. and basically ignores me. he says i never used to act this way until i had the baby now i think im invincible and can do whatever i want there is literally no way for me to get my point across to him b/c he will not allow it more
