Voting Question: usual APR on a unsecured personal BAD CREDIT loan?

I have a credit score that ranks me as a 'fair risk'. I applied for a loan with The AA but got turned down. I was looking into a 'Bad Credit' loan but was amazed at the repayment rates, some as high as 199.9%. This seems ridiculous. I don't mind paying a little over the odds for the repayments on my loan but not over twice the amount first borrowed. Does anybody know of a decent UK lender for my circumstances with a good acceptance rate and decent monthly charge? I'm looking to borrow £11500 and can spend no more than £400pcm in repayments (I don't want the loand hanging around for ages). I need the loan quickly for personal reasons. Looking to pay back over a 2 year period. I earn around £30k a year, have no CCJ's but have been in arrears in the past. I live with my parents, have no outgoings apart from car insurance £70ish pcm, petrol & mobile phone bill. Many thanks  more

Resolved Question: whats the deal with bad credit after 7yr clear out? can it be reinstated on credit file if i contact them?

ok. eight years ago, i got myself and my partner at the time a mobile phone each. he racked up a bill of $1,500 and never paid the amount. i went overseas not long after, and he was supposed to take care of my bill while i was away, but again he didn't pay it. my credit file had two amounts on there. One for the $1500 and one for $275. because i had the his bill transferred to his address hoping he would pay it, i never received any notice of this bill, and never knew that it hadn't been paid until i checked my credit file in dec2008. I paid my bill as soon as i returned from england. Now, the thing is, my credit report no longer has the amount for $1500 on it as it has been seven years. however the smaller amount that i paid is still on there saying it wasn't rectified. i contacted the debt collectors yesterday, to ask them to correct it to say that it was paid. but then, they mentioned the previous amount for $1500, and asked me to make arrangements to pay it. Now that i have been in contact with them, and the amount is still outstanding, can they put that back on my credit report?  more

Resolved Question: what do I do when I need to pay bills?

I'm in a bad situation with the current state of economy. Im just 19 and I have to pay over 2,000 dollars to all the major cell phone companies like Sprint,T-mobile, At&t, and Verizon. I also have to pay capital one just about 900 dollars or they keep raising the price. What is the best thing to do when it hard to get a job and I don't have good credit?  more

Voting Question: is the girl just playing hard to get?

I know this is a long read, but all I ask is a fair answer from you Messed up big time with this girl (do like her god I wish I didn’t, I’m not like this at all), and need some major advice. Basically the rough outline of the story goes that I asked this girl out and she said yes, and gave me her phone number pretty much straight away. And when I say straight away I mean that I didn’t even speak more than 20-30 words, and it was our first time talking bar once or twice when she spoke to me whilst I’ve been working on the doors. From there we text a few times all good so I thought (how can it not be good when you’re getting hahaha lol, messages back, and what your saying isn’t that funny) i left the last text. I gave it a week from here (not out of choose but just I was busy, but she never text me so don’t know if that goes to say a lot or not). Finally got round to texting her a sort of do you want to come out question, 10 sec later she text me back asking what it was that id asked her to (id asked if she fancied coming to the pleasure dome, sounds dodgy I know, but it’s a rave that’s just reopened). I tried to text back what it was but my credit ran out so called her as I can’t stand texting it’s too impersonal no answer, so when round mates house to use his phone. I text through what it was and to call me to which she text back she didn’t have my number, so called once more but no answer so text through giving her number again and left it (starting to think I was getting fu**ed about at this point so was thought bullocks to this and left. Next day my friend phoned saying shed text his phone a couple of times saying this and that about her phone not saving messages that’s why she didn’t have my number At this point I thought ok maybe she’s not messing me about so I text through something and within a minute got a reply. At this point I thought this is getting silly so called no answer. This is where I apparently made her mad I sent a text after the call which I thought was funny (asked some girl mates and they said they’d of laughed if that had come through to them, but it appears she didn’t find it funny). The message I sent went something along the lines of, see that funny looking green phone symbol on your mobile press it when it rings, I’ll call you later. About an hour and a half later (not playing cool or anything like that I was just training) I text again saying I hope you found that funny looking green phone symbol I’m about to call. So I called and above and behold no answer (felling pretty pi**ed) at this point like I’m getting the right run around so thought screw it and left it. Come collage one week later I saw her so went up to her (her mates all around her) and asked her if what time she finished, to which she said 4:30. Next I asked if she wanted to meet up, which she asked were and before I could even talk she went on about the green button thing. So I said it was supposed to be funny message not a narky one. She then jumped back saying she was walking her dog and she’s scatty (the dog that is) and that’s why she didn’t answer. she focused back in on my question about meeting up at this point and puckered her lips looked at me glaring kind of, and said she’d have to think about it and shed text me before the end of the day and Guess what folks no text. What do you guys and or girls think, and please don’t give me sh*t about my grammar or spelling I know it’s bad (I’m dyslexic dam it all to hell), and yes ill beat you all to the inevitable words that you are all going to say WHAT A LOOSER (and yes fu**k is my favourite swear word of choice at present, can’t help it just has a nice ring with everything I’m thinking at present), but to all you that say that you just weight it’ll happen to you (26 first time happening, ow yer shes only 19 by the way) some time. Now give me you wisdom brothers and sisters of the world My names Alexander by the way  more

Resolved Question: What to do? In debt and stressed so much.?

My money coming in, just isn't enough to pay all my outgoings. I keep slipping worse and worse in to debt. On top of that if it's not one more thing that needs to be borrowed from a credit card it's something else. Birthdays, parties, friends coming down, there's always something and i simply cant afford it now. They don't seem to think I'm serious when I say "I can't afford it!" Ive considered selling basically everything I own to maybe paying off one card, but then i've still got 4 major things that need paying. If I stop paying my phone bill, what will the consequences be? Is there any out of these companies, t-mobile, capital one, halifax credit card, catalog, catalog credit card. That will be sympathetic if i explain my situation? I just need something to ease up so i can relax and sleep properly - I have the strangest sleeping patterns, sleep for about 4 hours; and that's in the late afternoon when im absolutely beat. Thanks.  more

Resolved Question: I Have Bad Credit - Where Can I Get A Contract Phone?

I heard T-Mobile were good for accepting, and I'm currently waiting for the credit check, just wondering, is there any other provider that generally accepts? (:  more

Resolved Question: Just got A&L Premier Direct account with terrible credit ratings, joint application, why?

Myself and my girlfriend both have terrible credit ratings due to bad credit handling when we were around 18 years old, its so bad that seperately, we find it difficult to even get a basic bank account, nevermind a current account, neither of us can get a credit card, contract mobile phone, or anything like that. We applied as joint applicants for the alliance and leicester premier direct current account and unbelievably were approved!!! Im just wondering why, its not like one of our credit ratings is aiding the other as we both have terrible ratings, why the acceptance together when we cannot get anything apart? UK only please and please, no criticising our bad credit is from 5/6 years ago and we are in the process of sorting it out. Thanks for legitimate answers, i will choose top answer.  more

Voting Question: PLEASE HELP! My husband is getting mean and hard to live with, and I rely on him financially. What do I do?

My husband and I are 21 years old, almost 22, we've been married for 2 years, and it wasn't like this in the beginning, we used to be best friends, but since we tied the knot, things have gotten so bad. He’s so critical and unnecessarily mean about almost everything. I used to ask his opinion of things and he'd either shrug, and say he didn't care, or say that whatever it was ugly (or something negative along those lines), so I stopped asking, but he didn't stop putting in his two cents. These are some of things that have been bothering me most lately, and I know, some of these things sound really petty, but it’s so difficult to live with it day in and day out. For some reason, when I encouraged his choice to study pharmacy, he got the impression that’s what I wanted to do too. When I realized this, I told him, no, I’ve always wanted to major in dentistry and orthodontics; now, he only talk about how disgusting those careers are and how gross I am for wanting to do it. I go out of my way to be nice and friendly with everyone he knows, and he doesn't even make an effort to be friendly with any of my friends from before we were married, he never wants me to see them anymore, and if I'm on the phone with anyone he'll want to know who it is and what we talked about. Then he'll talk about how my friends suck, he doesn't like them, etc, etc. I feel so isolated from everyone, because he picks fights and makes me choose between him or my friends. He’ll even complain about the things I say to my mom about our relationship. If we're with his friends, and I say anything he doesn't like, he'll throw a fit on the way home about the things I say. It's not like I'm divulging secrets, I'm just making conversation. Really, it's things no one would even thinks twice about. This happens almost every time we leave somewhere. He's critical of my clothes, my hair, my makeup. Everything. The worst part is, I rely heavily on my husband right now. We were in school (to be pharmacy technicians) and my employeer at the time wouldn't give me the time off to go to class. I was only making minimum wage working part time, and he has a good job, so he told me not to worry about it, and to go ahead and quit so they wouldn't try to fire me or give me a bad reference. (It's been about 6 months, and we've finished school now.) My car is broken right now, and I need a few hundred dollars to fix it, probably about $500, so I can be mobile again and finally get another job. He complains about money now that he's had me quit my job, and he doesn't want to pay for it to get fixed. He thinks I should only get a job as a pharmacy technician, but the state board hasn’t processed our applications yet, so I’m not qualified to even apply. This is the only way he’ll agree to help me out. Now, don’t get me wrong, we have the money!!! But he feels he needs a new gaming system, a PS3 or Xbox 360. He's spent so much money recently on things we don't need. He bought an $800 hand gun he's taken shooting twice. AND! He put the $400 deposit on MY emergency credit card (I added him to it to help improve his credit, and it only has a $500 credit limit), so I don't have enough of a balance to buy the things to fix my car. He's taking forever to pay it off because he's he wants to 'help build our credit.' He bought a new iPod, which he lost already (now he wants to buy an iPod Touch). You get the idea. I’m so sorry I’ve rambled on like this, I’m just so frustrated. It's getting really hard to live with him. When we're at home, he acts miserable, and complains about how awful his life is, how lazy I am (which is not true, I do EVERYTHING around the house, and I’m desperate to work again.) What do I do? How do I get him to respect me and my choices? What do I do until I’m able to get a job? We have a joint account, I want to just buy the things I need and tell him to get screwed, but I know I’d feel awful after the fact. I feel like he wants me to have low self esteem, and be forced to depend on him. Does anyone else get this vibe? Any advice, ideas, or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU so much to those of you that even took the time to read all of this.  more

Resolved Question: would my Mobile phone bad credit rating affect my home loan application?

I have a bad credit rating with 3G for about 4 years already, due to I hadn't paid off my bill on time and my plan was cancelled. I have already paid off all outstanding amounts and penalty in 2005. Voting Question: I hate my life right now?

I feel really messed up in my head that I no not even what to do. Everyday, I feel like am going down the wrong part. I am 28 years of age male, being bursting my dam self trying to make something of myself but I feel as if something is holding me back, as if some forces are. I am so stress, so confused I just hate my life right now. I am in £6,000 mortgage arrears and another monthly mortgage due tomorrow which I haven't even raise the money to pay for yet. I am so tired of everything. I have a daughter, and am married too. I am self employed and have been for even before I graduated but business is so slow. I can't even get a loan to develop my business as no bank or anyone is willing to lend me money. Whilst I was a student, I took overdraft on m student account and credit card which I obviously defaulted on and as most of us do, I got scared when all the threatning letters came flying through the post and I simply just went hiding. Now I cant even get a simple credit for a mobile much less credit to develop my business. I am owing my small office rent £1,300 Owing Mortgage, owing mobile phone bill that my wife got for me, owing daughter's nursery fee's, british gas bill £700 and the list goes on. I am so stress am falling ill that even when I go to work, I've lost ALL motivation to work. I work in the creative industry and it is very important that you keep your head clear in other to be creative. I just don't have any motivation anymore. I go to work and just seat there not knowing what to do. The worst thing is that because am self employed, If I don;t work, I simply have no money at the end of the month and thats the position I find my self in month in month out. Its like an endless circle which I cant seem to get myself out of. The more I don't work, the more depress I get, the more in-debt I get. I am simply watching myself self distraught. These days, I go out a lot to find women to sleep with as a means of lifting myself from depression. Thats another thing, My sex drive is too high and I feel that my wife cant cope so I feel sorry to disturb her. These days I just don;t trouble her much, I simply look for someone outside to have that extra affair with. I have serious issues! am so fed up. Trying for a child with my wife for over 2 years now still no luck. I feel like am living a fake life. Am living in denial. I keep telling myself that am good, maybe am not really as good as I thought I am. I mean, I've got great business ideas, but no loan. If only I can get my hands on £60,000 all my life problem, my family problems will disappear totally. Where is a miracle when you need one? Am tired of LIFE! lost so much weight from this depression. I cant even afford to get the house re-posess as the deposit used for the house is my poor mum's only savings. If I loose the house she looses the only money the poor 65 year old woman has. She had a stroke during the last period the house was almost possessed and lost all senses but thankfully after 6 weeks in the hospital, she's back with us. I wonder what will happen this time if she finds out what is happening with the house this time. Knowing that it is about to be repossessed. I am really close to just killing myself. Am so tired. Where is my dad when I need him? why did he had to die so soon. He died when I was just 14. I hate my life.  more

Resolved Question: Which bank is most likely to give me a £10,000 loan with no credit history?

i know its a long shot with banks been the way that they are at the moment but surely there is ONE company or bank out there who could help. Ive never been overdrawn and i always pay mobile phone bill monthly. I'm 21 in two months. I have applied for Halfiax and AA Loans but been turned down with both. I want to know the best to try for before i apply here there and everywhere which will look bad. I know this is alot of money, and you will be surprised to hear the reason i need it!.. its actually to pay the deposit on a house me and my partner are buying from his brother... i know its harder to get a mortgage this way but our financial advisor says if we can get a loan, he WILL get us a mortgage. We have worked out we could make repayments of £200 a month and still be fine... its not money down the drain, its for our future investment. i am 21 in two months, i am in full time work but have no credit cards or credit history... I could just do with knowing if anyone knows which bank is MOST Likely best to at least try.. they can only say no...  more

Is there anyway i can end them?, I have just had a problem that i have been using my partners phone that is in my name to call them while they where away on business to a landline they answered in Poland.. but i forgot to use the prefix of 388 infront of it... this has created a £53 bill in 5 days on top of my already £25 for basic contract and £15 add on for international saver of which hardly anything is used... 3 mobile telephone customer services centre obviously show NO remorse, NO help, and to be honest can barely speak english.. this isnt the first problem ive had, when they started charging for bill statements and extra £1 that was two 3 hour phone calls to sort out.. I was still charged for one month of this... when i changed my direct debit dates to the begining of the month this took 3 months to sort out.. and they then started charging me for cancelling a direct debit even though they had instructed me to do so in the first place this ended up with another three 2 hour phone calls to them to try and sort out. Im just geting to the point where im giving in to them..... as they are wearing me out arguing with someone in another country who doesnt show any care for my case. 9 times out of 10 they sound like they are reading from a screen have no knowledge of the service. I regularly attempt to speak to a manger who is always never available (probably dealing with another poor persons complaint) They dont ever seem to ring you back if you e-mail them. WHY WHEN YOU BUY THE PHONE IN A SHOP MOST OF THE STAFF ARE ENGLISH??, BUT THEN WHEN YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND TRY TO CALL THEM THERE ISNT AN ENGLISH VOICE TO BE HEARD ANYWHERE..... I HAVE TO SAY FOREIGN CALL CENTRES REALLY LET A COMPANY DOWN........ I actually really DISPISE this company, 6 years ago i had a 3 phone that didnt work on the middle of London Bridge or in Covent Garden.. After some research i thought they would have improved service reception and customer service but its got worse!!!, the phone i had 6 years ago i just stopped paying and it wreked my credit ratings... this is all now sorted so.. all i want is a legal way to get out of my contract with a company that doesnt seem to care. They are very fast at taking my money but very slow at sorting problems out. My phone regularly cuts out half way through phone calls, regularly i cant get reception, its a Nokia 6500 phone so once you drop it it a couple of times it starts reseting itself out of the blue.. so i wouldnt mind changin that aswell (atleast i can live with the phone) I just want out of this contract, I cant drop my tariff plan supposedly as it is a £25 a month plan meaning for the next 7 months i will have to pay approximatly £400 (£200 per phone) + £53 International call charges (as i didnt use the prefix of 388 just to get out of my contracts... Can anyone please advise me of a cheaper way to do this???. any advice would be great.. i even feel better just writing that down here.. :-), maybe you will listen to me as 3 mobile dont listen it seems. Oh and i also have a 3 dongle!!!!... that is another story.... HANDY hint to anyone.. if you use all of your data allowance for the month on your dongle and you try to get an ADD ON, 3 mobile WONT let you, they will charge you pay 10p per MB i.e. 1GB = £120. Answer to this problem is:- if you have a "3 mobile" contract get a 1 month broadband ADD ON costing £10 for 1GB and use that card in your dongle... ALL very long winded i know!!!.. this only took me 6 hours to sort out, funnily enough i had to work this out myself as nobody in 3 seemed to offer this suggestion.. (meaning i would have been without internet for 2 weeks) 3 broadband call centre & 3 mobile call centre (two totally different places infact)... Similar breed.. HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP Thanks in advance  more

Resolved Question: Can i get a 'Default' removed from credit agencies like Experion?

I have just discovered that i have only one black mark against me on my credit report with Experion and presumably with other agencies. Basically just over 4 years ago i took out a mobile phone contract with 3G (as they were then). I cancelled my 1 year agreement after 6 weeks due to 3G's breach of contract in failing to provide the service paid for. 87% of calls both in and out were dumped in under 10 seconds! Their cancellations department accepted the cancellation but apparently never told the billing department who sent me 2 further monthly bills which i returned telling them the agreement was cancelled. Then i heard nothing more about it.......until late last year when i got a letter from Lowell Portffolio saying i owed them over 200 quid in respect of a debt to 3 which they had purchased. I wrote and told Lowell that there was no debt to collect and never had been and they should bounce it back to 3G. I have heard nothing from them since. But on my Experion credit report this non existent debt shows as a Default [dated at would have been the end of the 1 year contract had it not been cancelled - presumably having been reported by 3G, and shown updated late last year as still in default by Lowell]. Now even 5 years ago talking to 3G was a waste of time as correspondence seemed to disappear into a black hole and if you phoned them - and you never got the same person twice - they would deny any record of previous phone calls. So trying to sort this with 3 as it now is will be even worse. Has anyone had a similar experience and does anyone know if there is a way of getting this non-existent default removed from my credit record.  more

Voting Question: How to avenge from my lover who turned out to be a bad girl friend?

I am a north indian guy and was met by this south indian girl on net 3 years ago living in north (not in my city). Quickly friendship turned into strong love affair and we took vows to marry irrespective of what our parents wish. Slowly she started kind of emotionally materially blackmailing me and I did whatever I could for her, bought her so many expensive things, fridge, dressing tables, her mobile phone bills, credit card bills, air tickets to go to her parents. Then for past 2 years I was abroad and all this continued from there as well. Now that I returned back to India and talked about marriage, she is just dusting her shoulders saying she never said and never would go against her parents wishes and is avoiding me big time. Also I am again away from my city and hers. The problem has been I have yet not spoken to my parents as well and that leaves me totally alone and in bad state as you can imagine.I sometimes think of going to some extreme but the problem I still love her but at the same time want to teach her a lesson about what it means to ruin someones life. Also off late I heard that she might be going around with some other guy!!  more

Resolved Question: Friend not paying his mobile phone bill from last year - will this be chased and affect his credit?

Im supposed to be renting a new flat with a mate of mine in May. However they have just informed me that they havent paid their outstanding mobile phone bill since November, around £200. Now im worried that he'll fail a credit check and everything wont go to plan. He's refusing to pay it and assumed that itll get written off as bad debt, hes not recieved any letters off the phone company - but im sure they will pass his details onto a debt collection company and hence his credit will be affected? Any advice?  more

Voting Question: I am wanting to open my own business.?

I would like to open my own business. It is a beauty supply store on wheels. I was in the beauty business in Las Vegas. I was a nail tech for 15 yrs. until I finally had to quit the business due to my hands. I have carpultunnel/tendonitous. I made very good money doing nails & know the business well. I now live in Arizona I have checked in the phone books & I see beauty supply stores but not to many mobil beauty suppliers. In Las Vegas i watched a mobil supplier go from selling hair bows out of a K/mart bag then on to selling different items at the swap meet. nail files, polish, nails, charms, combs , all sorts of stuff. Then they converted an old bread truck into a mobile beauty supply. They would go from Salon to Salon & sell hair & nail products to the employee's & customers. as the business grew they kept adding products. they ended up with 5 trucks, 1 super size beauty supply store. In that 15 yrs they made over 2.5 million & sold the business to their family and still own 1/4 of the business. I so bad want to do this but for some reason I have not followed through with what I know is a sucessful business. I am a single Mother no money to get it going my credit is not the best but it's not to awfully bad. Can you tell me the best way to go about this? I know there are grants available. I also want to see what the people in the beauty business have to say about this type of business & if they think it would something they might be interested in. I also would like to take a survey for many reasons. what would they like to see available on our truck? nail products used? polishes supplies such as colors perms etc How do they go about getting supply's now how do I go about all this... I know what to do but scared of messing up.... HELP!!!!  more

Resolved Question: Bankruptcy or debt consolidation?

I was divorced last fall, in Texas, where I still reside. My attorney refused to ask my x for disclosure, so I did not know that my x had $15,000 in credit card debt. The divorce papers say she's liable for debts she incurred from the day I walked out on her, and for all debts that are in her name, which these 3 revolving accounts are. But, she hasn't paid and yesterday, after getting turned down for credit, I checked my credit online and found out that two of her credit card companies have put charge-offs on my credit, a third one is about to, because she's 190 days past due on it, and she never paid the phone bill so Embarq has put a charge-off on my credit, too, for $150, which is the least of my worries, but my credit score is barely over 400 now. Everything else on my credit shows "paid on time/as agreed". I've never made a late payment on anything my whole life. I'm considering bankruptcy, but I own two homes (one is a rent house, both are mobile homes). The industry I work in is winding down and I had planned on moving into the landlord business. I'd planned to purchase an RV park, not only as a new career, but as my only retirement income, as well. I'll be 50 years old in a few months. I don't have years left over to build more credit. Suing my x for whatever she owes me will not do any good, because she refuses to work, doesn't have a job skill and will surely never pay me once I win in court. My income is excellent, and I may make too much for Chapter 7. Also, one of my homes is in a mobile home park inside a city limits. My main home sits on 2 acres in a subdivision, outside of city limits. I'm concerned that if I file bankruptcy, I won't be able to keep both houses. I also have two cars. One is a junker that my X trashed and gave back to me while the divorce was still pending. I owe less than $2,000 on it. The other car is very nice, only 2 years old, and I owe a lot on it. I'm paying on all this, on time. My only concern is losing my homes and the good car. Personally, I have no other bills besides the two house payments and the two car payments & their insurance. I have no revolving accounts. Given my plans for retirement and my unsteady job security right now, which do you think I should do, file or consolidate just her bad bills and pay them off over time?  more

Resolved Question: What credit card should I apply for (UK)?

I've very little credit history, all that is on my credit file is a couple of years of payments for my mobile phone (no missed payments) but I've been told by a friend that having no credit history can be as bad as having poor credit history. So I've decided to get a credit card or two to increase my credit score so that in a year or two I won't have any problems getting a mortgage. I don't need them and just intend to pay for a few things each month and clear the balance at the end of each month. Thing is, being refused a credit card for any reason will look bad on my credit report as well, so when I apply, I wan't to make sure that I don't get refused for having little credit history. Can anyone recommend a card company that provides a good service and won't be likely refuse my application on these grounds? Advice would be very appreciated, cheers  more

Voting Question: Dilemma concerning cell phone carriers?

Okay, here's the deal. I currently have T-Mobile's FlexAccount/FlexPay plan. It's somewhat of an individual plan, I suppose. I pay around $57.44 every month for 300 minutes, unlimited weekend minutes, and unlimited texting. The problem is, I'm 17 and have to pay for my own phone bill. I have no job. I've had this plan for about 8 months, and during those 8 months I've had to save every penny I could to pay this goddamn bill on time. Well, not this time. Since I was on break for 3 weeks due to school, I haven't been getting an allowance. No allowance = no money = no money for phone bill. My bill was due this past Wednesday - I'm already behind. At this moment, I am being forced to sell my PS2 and my Gamecube to at least get something. I've been frantically searching for a job; filling out applications, going to Job Fairs, calling in to ask about scheduling interviews... It's all the same: "We'll call you back." I can't afford to already have bad credit at such a young age. My only thoughts right now are to cancel my service and go with MetroPCS, the cheapest cell phone carrier out there, aside from PrePaid phones. They got plans as low as $30, so I'm thinking about just going for it. Only problem is, I heard MetroPCS can't flash smart phones, and my Sony Ericsson P1i is an imported smart phone. So, the question is, should I risk it all and try MetroPCS? I am at my wits' end, and don't know what to do.  more

Resolved Question: What do you think...?

Oh-kay, so all of you probably heard of the Sidekick [ http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/detail.aspx?device=0bc43a5f-3dc0-4569-9882-0639a76d2865 ] before. I would really love to have it, but my mother says she doesn't really want me to have it because: ◘ She's afraid that if she buys it for me, her credit will become even worse then it is now. The reason she say's this is because it comes with a 2 year contract and if the bill is not paid on time, her credit score will become lower. ◘ She also said it will affect my education because she thinks I'll be instant messaging, and texting all day, which will cause me to avoid doing my homework and/or studying. I respect the reasons for why my mother doesn't really want me to have this phone. But, I am willing to pay for the bill. Just a while ago, I was saying to myself that I should do chores around the house which can earn me about $50+ a month. And as I get the money, I will put it in my bank account and keep on doing so until I get at least $200. Then, my mom can buy me the phone as an early b-day present. The reason I say $200 is because, when my bill is due, all I would have to do is take the amount needed and pay it with that. I will still be doing chores, so as I take money out for my bill, money will be still be added. Get meh? The bill will be around $80. So, really..it would be helping her get better credit. And as for it affecting my education, umm..I'm not sure how to prove to her that it won't cause any harm to it. Any ideas? BTW, the plan that I would like is "myFaves 300 with FlexPay". FlexPay is basically an account that allows you to add money to it, and when you're bill is due, it withdraws the amount needed and it's used to pay your bill. I don't really talk much on the phone, so 300 minutes is fine, I'll have free nights & weekends. And I'm 13. What do you think of what I'm willing to do to have this phone?  more

Resolved Question: FTB - Adverse credit???!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!! :-( ?

Hi, Myself and my fiancee (we are getting married in July) are would-be first time buyers and wish to buy a house at the end of this year but I have a really bad problem with my credit history. My question is after taking the below into account, what are the chances of us getting a mortgage?? Currently we earn £43,500 between us a year - we would have approx £10-12.5K as a deposit. According to checkmyfile my current credit scores are as follows: Equifax - 429, Callcredit - 464 & Experian - 634. I currently have three defaults against my name (1 from a mobile phone provider, 1 from a loan company and 1 from a credit card company). I am hoping that by June the mobile phone and loan will have been repaid in full and thus they should show as satisfied on my files and by Oct/Nov the other other default will show as satisfied. I have had serious arrears (where I have missed an awful lot of payments consecutively) in the past and some of the accounts are subsequently showing as deliqeunt at the moment on my file(s). These are for loans/credit cards/overdrafts and are currently in the process of being paid off (but some of these are now down as arrangements to pay on file) and will be completely paid off by August/September of this year. At the time of us applying for a mortgage, the only debt that I will have against my name will be approx £1200 left to pay on a credit card (which has a £1750 limit) and again is something that I am paying off at the moment. I think that it is every married couples dream to own their own home but feel that my errors in the past my seriously hamper our prospects. My partners credit history is exemplorary and she has never had a late/missed a payment in her life. I would be really, really grateful for someones help advice on this subject so that perhaps I can start to sleep again at night!!!! Thanks ever so much in advance and my sincerest apologies for the length of this question!!!! Happy new year to all !!!! :-)  more

Resolved Question: My credit affects my new phone dream?

I wanted to get a new phone. I wouldn't mind T Mobile, Alltell, or anything else. But my credit is bad. (Score = 675) I still have payments that I need to take care of that have been sent to collections. I started off not paying them at all, but I am handling them now. In fact, I've taken care of one of the three credit cards I need to deal with. Point is, is there any way I can avoid making a $400 dollar deposit. And I don't want to go back to MetroPCS. I hate the service. Help please!  more

Resolved Question: If you have the time and can work this out, I’d like feedback that might help make sense of this grizzly story?

M is a 70 yr old great grandmother goes to court for C (20 years estranged) to get an AVO, M tells C about chest pains and C says M better get yourself to a doctor. M drives 3 hrs home and gets a neighbour to take her to hospital, and M doesn't call D, (close significant rel) because of geographical distance, and she didn’t get the postcards stating when D would return from overseas and C tells the hospital D is still overseas (never having had a conversation with D about it) and the hospital substitutes D’s name for C’s on the written records as 'next of kin' and lists D as a 'person not to be notified' the doctor puts a stent in, stenting is done instead of bypass, and M is released to go home alone, where M has a faulty phone line and a mobile with no credit because she hasn't had a chance to top it up. Over the weekend M gets in touch with the doctor and who says ‘you’ve got to expect some pain after an operation’, on Monday M tells another doctor she is still in pain, M gets a neighbour to take her to hospital and they transfer her again, and discover M has had a blocked stent for three days, the doctor gets another doctor to operate and put in more stents in. Then five days later at 6AM the doctor calls D and says 'M has had a bad turn and has asked not to be resuscitated, she's dead, then the doctor discovers that D, was the original 'next of kin', wasn't overseas and was never told M was in hospital. The D calls C and gets no answer, D calls all the other relatives and a couple of them visited but none of them were told by C. Then D calls the hospital again and while the doctor is explaining ‘it was a very rare complication’ C arrives, takes the phone says ‘how did you know?’ D says the hospital called me’ to which C replies ‘oh no the computer made a mistake and automatically called you because the names are listed in alphabetical order’ D asks why C didn't call her or say anything to anyone, to which C replies 'didn't you get my email?' D checks the emails and the computer crashes three times at the size of 6 large attachments C sent the night before, the subject line reads 'thought you might enjoy a laugh' finally the email opens and the attachments are 6 cartoons but there is no mention of M being in hospital for over a week, or of M having a heart attack and C makes no mention even after the funeral of any court. C insists on M being cremated and has taken M’s possessions for ‘safekeeping’. The hospital refuses to release medical records because C the 'next of kin' won’t give permission, despite D being the Executrix, then C puts a caveat on Probate on the grounds that D hasn’t communicated with C. Any comments that might help make sense of this story are welcome.  more

Resolved Question: Can I buy a T-mobile account online if I have bad credit?

My credit is fairly bad. I went to T-mobile.com and bought a phone and a new account. The $150 has already been taken from my debit card, and I received confirmation that my order has been submitted. Does this mean that I'm good, or is there a chance that they will refund my order and refuse to send the phone?  more
